Arctic Monkeys – Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not
Un album générationnel et à partir duquel tout a commencé pour moi.
Mes parents ne m’ont pas vraiment poussé vers la musique, mais ils m’ont quand même laissé une belle collection de disques.
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Stadium Arcadium
Je joue de la basse depuis le jour de la sortie de ce disque, et je n’arrêterai plus !
Ticket gagnant : quel a été le moment déterminant pour mettre le pied à l’étrier dans ce milieu ?
Mon stage chez Believe. On mange des barquettes Picard pendant un bon moment mais le jeu en vaut la chandelle!
Recommandation de spectacle/concert à voir absolument pour quelqu’un qui ne sort jamais ?

Qu’est-ce qui vous a pris de vouloir travailler dans la musique?
La première fois que j’ai parlé à quelqu’un qui travaillait dans la musique pour m’orienter, on m’a dit: “Franchement, si je peux te donner un conseil, évite ce milieu, avec le digital il n’y a plus d’avenir”. Mon esprit de contradiction m’a donc convaincu !
Vous rencontrez des aliens: les 10 titres / œuvres à leur faire découvrir ?
Je pense qu’avec ça, ils sauront que l’humanité est capable de tout.

SRSLY (sérieusement) : les enjeux de votre métier dans les 5 prochaines années ?
Faire comprendre aux gens que les plateformes de streaming sont désormais un média et pas de simples plateformes. Pour l’instant, les gens découvrent un titre sur les réseaux et se demandent si c’est disponible en streaming. Notre objectif, c’est que les gens comprennent qu’une plateforme de streaming peut aussi être un lieu d’échange musical. Pas juste un bouton play pour écouter le dernier single #1. Ça permettrait aussi de remettre l’artiste et la découverte au centre de ce qu’on fait.
Y a-t-il une vie après la musique et à quoi la vôtre ressemblerait-elle?
La musique sera toujours dans ma vie, mais c’est vrai que je me vois bien me reposer dans un bistrot. En Grèce sans doute. Mais qu’est-ce que je fous là?? Ciao!

Arctic Monkeys – Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not
One of the key albums of my generation and I think everything started from this album for me.
My parents didn’t really push me towards music, but they did leave me with a nice collection of records!
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Stadium Arcadium
I haven’t stopped playing bass since the day I listened to that album!
Golden Ticket moment : when did you get your big break ?
My internship at Believe for sure. Eating all this cheap frozen food for 6 months was definitely worth it!
The show/gig you recommend for someone who has rarely ever goes out?
Manu Chao, of course.
Why on earth did you want to work in music?
I’ll always remember the first time I ever talked to someone working in the industry. I was trying to get advice for my studies and my career. The first advice I was ever given was: “You should avoid this industry. Digital downloads have killed it and the future doesn’t look very promising”. I guess I just wanted to make a point and contradict this guy !

SRSLY (seriously) : what are the stakes of your job within the next 5 years ?
Get people to understand that streaming services are a media, not just a simple platform. I think we’re still discovering music elsewhere and we only play it on streaming services. I think our goal is to convince consumers that streaming apps can be a place for interaction and social sharing and not just a play button to listen to the latest hit. That would also allow artists to be at the forefront and to bring music discovery to the core of what we do.
Is there life after music, and what would yours be ?
Music will always be in my life I guess, but I can easily picture my self chilling in a greek tavern in front of the beach. Actually, what am I doing here, I need to leave !
